Man Utd fullback Dalot slams AZ Alkmaar pitch

Manchester United full back Diogo Dalot was less than impressed with the state of the pitch against AZ Alkmaar.

United had to endure a poor quality artificial turf in their Europa League group stages game on Thursday.

They emerged with a 0-0 draw, and Dalot spoke about the condition of the pitch after the game.

"It's a lot easier for them because they're used to playing on these types of pitches," Dalot told MUTV.

"We're Man United though and we need to be ready for any challenge and we don't use that as an excuse but it is of course a difficulty that we need to get through.

"I think we did OK today and we defended well and we kept the clean sheet and that's important.

"We trained well yesterday on this pitch. Today we tried to do our best and we did a good job and we created chances as well.

"If we'd have scored some more goals as well... but like I said, at the end we need to keep the positives, look to what we did bad and improve that."
