Man Utd fans wave goodbye to LVG at West Ham farewell

Manchester United fans are desperate to see the back of manager Louis van Gaal following the latest defeat at the hands of West Ham United.

United succumbed to a disappointing 3-2 defeat to the Hammers at the Boleyn Ground on Tuesday night, despite Anthony Martial's second-half brace putting them 2-1 ahead, and the result means that the Red Devils look unlikely to qualify for the Champions League.

The match, which saw West Ham score twice in the final 14 minutes to clinch victory, epitomised how poor United have been this season and following the loss, some sections of United fans made it crystal clear on social media that they want to see van Gaal depart at the end of the current campaign.

Just a selection of tweets suggested that Man Utd were 'Pathetic and spineless. That's what LvG is all about'.

Other tweets read: 'Martial aside, trademark Louis Van Gaal garbage from us all night. Two more games, SURELY'.

'That game was Van Gaal's time at United in a nutshell; a long period of floundering, the briefest, most false hope, & an eventual collapse.'

'No football brains, lack of motivation, no pace. Only Martial was performing good as always. It's time to bring Mourinho.'

Dutchman van Gaal is still in danger of losing his job at Old Trafford this summer as Jose Mourinho waits in the wings for the chance to manage arguably England's biggest club.
