Manchester United are believed to be pondering a summer move for Liverpool's Joe Allen.

The South Wales Evening Post is reporting that Jose Mourinho is contemplating a surprise swoop for the Reds midfielder who starred for Wales at Euro2016.

It is believed that Mourinho is looking to restructure his midfield with reports that the Old Trafford futures of Bastian Schweinsteiger, Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini are all being considered.

Allen appears unwanted by Jurgen Klopp, who has a plethora of central midfielders at his disposal, which has prompted United to to weigh up the possibility of a making an offer for the 26-year-old.

The former Swansea City star, who is valued at around £14million by Liverpool, is also wanted by his old club as well as West Ham United, Stoke City and Spain's Sevilla.
