Manchester United are being linked with AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas.
Corriere dello Sport says the highly-rated Greece international has a bargain £32million release clause in his contract.
Manolas, 27, has established himself as an integral part of the Stadio Olimpico side's success since arriving from Olympiacos in 2014.
Roma were determined to tie him down to a new deal and scrap his release clause but they are facing in the increasing possibility that he will seek an exit to a bigger European club.
United boss Jose Mourinho failed in his attempts to sign a central defender in the summer having missed out on the likes of Harry Maguire, Toby Alderweireld and Raphael Varane.
But Manolas could finally fill the void he is looking for if they can fend off the interest of Juventus.
