Man Utd due triple fitness boost for Liverpool showdown

Manchester United are due a triple fitness boost with the return of three key players for Sunday's showdown with Liverpool.

Paul Pogba, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw are all set to return for the Old Trafford clash, with forward Anthony Martial also understood to be in contention to make the 18-man squad, says the Mirror.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate for the return of a core of his established players, with the Reds having endured their worst start to a league campaign for 30 years.

Solskjaer's side are down in 12th place, 15 points behind leaders Liverpool, who boast a 100 per cent record and who can pile the pressure on the beleaguered United boss by continuing their winning run at the weekend.

Shaw and Martial have not featured since United's 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace back on August 24, while Pogba has missed five of their last seven games with an ongoing ankle problem, but he spent part of the international break recuperating at a warm weather training camp in Dubai.

Wan-Bissaka has missed United's last three games after a bout of tonsillitis, but is understood to have made a full recovery during the international break and is also said to be ready to return.
