Man Utd draw up new plan to keep Pereira

Manchester United are ready to work with Andreas Pereira to secure him to a new deal - including releasing him on-loan.

The Sun says the 23-year-old midfielder had his contract extended by the Red Devils last week after triggering a 12-month renewal option.

It is understood Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants him to sign a new four-year deal within the coming months.

And United will then allow him to go out on loan for the next campaign to gain experience, as long as he puts pen-to-paper on an extension.

An Old Trafford source said: “The club are prepared to let him leave for a non-rival if it helps persuade him to stay long-term.

“Nobody wants him to go as he is well liked here and is extremely talented. We are confident he can make it here.

“We know he needs more regular starts though to take his game to the next level. He is highly valued.

“Ole is a fan of his but will struggle to find a proper role for him next season as things push on at the club."
