Man Utd director Glazer discusses Ten Hag plans: We've always spent the money necessary to buy new players

Manchester United director Joel Glazer says manager Erik ten Hag will be backed in the summer market.

Glazer appears to have confirmed that money will be available to spend on replacements.

When asked by Sky Sports if the club will be able to invest this summer, he said: "We've always spent the money necessary to buy new players."

United finished the season in sixth place on just 58 points, their lowest-ever tally in the Premier League era, and a goal difference of zero. When pressed, Glazer admitted it has been an underwhelming campaign but is confident Ten Hag will turn things around.

When asked if he was disappointed with the season, Glazer initially replied: "I don't think this is the time to talk about that."

However, when it was pointed out that fans certainly are disappointed he added: "It is a disappointing season, disappointing season for everyone and we're going to work next season to make sure it's a better season."

Glazer was then asked if Ten Hag was the man to achieve that, to which he responded: "That's why we hired him. He'll do a great job."
