Man Utd deliver Solskjaer crucial message

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been assured his job is safe even if they suffer a heavy defeat against Liverpool.

The Red Devils are in a poor vein of form and are languishing down in 12th after they were beaten 1-0 by relegation-threatened Newcastle last time out in the Premier League.

United get a rest this weekend due to the international break, but face bitter rivals Liverpool when the domestic fixtures return.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool have won all eight of their opening league fixtures and sit eight points clear of nearest rivals Manchester City at the top of the table.

The Times says the United hierarchy appreciates that Solskjaer has inherited a work in progress and are prepared to give him more time to turn things around.
