Manchester United defender Raphael Varane says his partnership with Harry Maguire will need time to bed down.

Varane was renowned at Real Madrid for his partnership with club captain Sergio Ramos.

But the Frenchman was keen to point out the understanding between the pair was borne from a decade of work and that he hoped similar could be achieved with his new team-mates, given time at Old Trafford.

“With Sergio Ramos I had 10 years to know him and how he moved and how I have to move to be complementary with him," he said.

“Every day we learn and every day we will do better and improve."
