Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia has insisted that his Netherlands teammate Cody Gakpo is good enough for the very top of the sport.
Gakpo has been outstanding for the Netherlands at the World Cup, netting three goals in the group stages.
As the Dutch prepare for a quarter final date against Argentina, Malacia took time to speak about the PSV attacker, who is being linked with a move to United in January.
Malacia, who joined United in the summer from Feyenoord, stated to The Athletic: "He's good enough for the top, there's no doubt."
When asked about his future after a 3-1 win over the United States at the weekend, Gakpo told reporters: "I have to be honest, I am not thinking about that now.
"I am focused on the tournament and want to keep performing well, to keep helping the team. Hopefully, when we become world champions we can think about other things. I try to keep focused and the other players don't really speak about that kind of thing."
