Man Utd defender Bailly: Injuries over; I'm back

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly has declared he's over his latest injury woes.

The Ivory Coast defender suffered a muscle injury on international duty against Belgium in October - which he has confirmed. After the setback, United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said later in October that Bailly could be available after the November international break.

Bailly trained with United's first team squad from Monday last week and he says a return to action is now down to the manager.

Speaking with Mundo Deportivo, Bailly says he's fit and ready to be avaiable to United manager Solskjaer for selection.

He said, "I cannot deny that I have not had much fortune. Although in life one has to overcome all those problems. The one now has been a muscle injury that has slowed me down for a few weeks, but I'm back. And with good feelings, I missed this. Having an environment that supports you is essential to not give up and I have always had the support of my family."

Bailly's time at Old Trafford has been plagued by injury and he admits rebuilding confidence in his body is part of the rehabilitation process.

Asked if he worries about injuries when taking the field, Bailly was honest: "Fear grips, and you have to try to escape from it. Although from time to time a doubt arises when one has not played for a while. Regaining trust is important.

"(For this season I wish for) fundamentally health, that injuries give me a break. The rest comes later."

Bailly signed a new deal with United this past January, with his contract now running to 2022. The 26 year-old has been with United for over four years.
