Man Utd defender Bailly in tears after major knee injury

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly was left in tears after suffering a knee injury in their draw with Chelsea.

The Ivory Coast centre-back suffered the devastating injury midway through the second half against Chelsea when he challenged Mateo Kovacic.

Bailly's right knee was put in a straight brace before he left Old Trafford and he will be scanned on Monday - and expects anterior cruciate ligament damage to be confirmed, reports The Sun.

That would rule him out until at least late this year and will rule out a move to Arsenal, who were ready to move for him this summer.

Kovacic's weight fell onto Bailly's knee as the Croatian midfielder fell from a foul by Ander Herrera.

Bailly's knee was too swollen for scanning immediately which is why he will get the full assessment on Monday.
