Manchester United star Eric Bailly has insisted that he has no regrets after missing out on a move to Juventus.
Despite not even playing for a club in his native Ivory Coast, Bailly was wanted by Italian giants Juve a few years ago after he was spotted playing at a football academy as a teenager but due to the defender's lack of football background and paperwork, they could not get a work permit and he ended up going to Espanyol in Spain instead.
Now Bailly is playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world in Man United and the 23-year-old defender has stated that he has no regrets about missing out on a move to Juventus as he thoroughly enjoyed his experiences with Espanyol and Villarreal, which included a significant win over Real Madrid.
He told the Daily Mirror: “I had no regrets about Juventus because I had such a good time in Spain.
“I grew up watching Sergio Ramos, he was my hero. Then, here I am, playing against him.
“We beat Real Madrid 1-0 when I was at Villarreal. I could never have dreamed of that, it was incredible."
