Man Utd defeat could lead to loss of job for Fenerbahce boss Advocaat

Dick Advocaat is facing an uncertain time as manager of Turkish club Fenerbahce.

The Istanbul giants fell to ninth on the SuperLig table on Sunday having been held to a draw at home by Alanyaspor which suggests that the Dutchman is in danger of losing his job.

Fenerbahce head to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United in the Europa League on Thursday night and a poor result could prompt the club ton end their association with Advocaat, who stepped down from his role at Sunderland in October 2015.

"If the club thinks they can find a better manager they can do it tomorrow," he said.

"I am not here for myself. I am here for the club. It's simple.

"It's very sad. If you want to be at the top then you have to win your home matches. We have to find out what's wrong and I have some ideas on the subject, but this is internal.

"I can only blame myself and the players."
