Man Utd cult hero Anderson declares his retirement

Manchester United Champions League winner Anderson has announced his retirement.

At 31, Anderson has hung up the boots and will take up an off-field role with Turkish Second Division outfit Adana Demirspor.

"Anderson has decided to quit football, reduced his salary by €400,000 and will continue to work at the club.

"I think it is very useful in foreign affairs," the club's president Murat Sancak told Radyospor.

Anderson is to become a member of Adana Demirspor's externa affairs team.

With FC Porto, in addition to the two national titles, Anderson won a Super Cup. In England, with United, he won the Champions League (in the Moscow final with Chelsea), four championships, two League Cups, two Super Cups and one Club World Cup.

As a Brazil international, he also won the Copa America.
