Manchester United will look at Tom Heaton if Sam Johnstone does not want to return to the club.
Johnstone is a target for United, Tottenham and West Ham United after impressing with West Bromwich Albion this season.
28-year-old Johnstone spent nine years at Old Trafford before departing in 2018.
He is the clear number one target for United, but he is not the only one.
According to The Sun, Aston Villa keeper Heaton is also in the frame.
Like Johnstone, Heaton was a youth keeper at the Red Devils.
The 35-year-old has fallen behind Emiliano Martinez at Villa Park.
Dean Henderson has recently wrestled the number one goalkeeper spot from David De Gea in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.
With Lee Grant and Sergio Romero expected to leave this summer, Solskjaer wants to add an experienced shot-stopper to his squad.
