Manchester United are confident they can land Moussa Dembele from Lyon.
The Ligue 1 club are expected to offload some of their star talent to compensate for missing out on qualification to the Champions League.
The 2019/20 season was cancelled in France due to the coronavirus pandemic.
And the Daily Star says United believe they can seal a £60m deal for the former Celtic and Fulham forward.
Chelsea have also shown an interest in the 24-year-old.
Speaking this week, Lyon chief Jean Michel Aulas admitted the club might have to sell this summer.
"I am going to do everything to keep the players, but players who are programmed to play in Europe could want to go elsewhere because we don't have European football," said Aulas.
