Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is missing his long time assistant Rui Faria.

The Daily Star says United chiefs believe Faria's exit is behind Mourinho's early-season woes.

The Red Devils were beaten at Brighton on Sunday and after a frustrating summer, storm clouds are gathering over Old Trafford.

And United bosses fear trouble is brewing because Mourinho's right-hand man is no longer there.

Faria opted to leave United at the end of last season, having worked with Mourinho at Chelsea, Real Madrid and Porto.

It is claimed he helped control the United boss and talk him into sense.
