Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward says the club are able to "attract and retain top quality players".
Reports this week had claimed United manager Jose Mourinho would not be supported during the upcoming January transfer window.
But speaking at the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday, Woodward reassured investors that the club were in a position to spend money on players.
Woodward said: "Our financial strength enables us to continue to attract and retain top players and to invest in our academy, as we look to drive the success on the pitch that the club and our fans expect."
