Man Utd chief Woodward backing Solskjaer after long-term vision laid out

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer retains the full backing of vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

Woodward has backed Solskjaer up until this point and a moment behind the scenes at Old Trafford rubberstamped this only a few weeks ago.

Solskjaer was in his office working on his plans for Manchester United.

But the Norwegian wasn't just considering the next few weeks, he was reportedly putting together an extensive plan for the future.

The Independent says Woodward walked past Solskjaer's office while he was privately working on the plan and was impressed by the Norwegian's dedication.

Woodward apparently liked the fact that Solskjaer sees himself in the job for the long-term and is looking at creating a dynasty, like the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson.

The chance moment came as a boost for Solskjaer as Woodward's opinion has an influence on Joel Glazer, the ultimate decision-maker at United.

The report claimed Woodward 'made up his mind' on Solskjaer then and there, suggesting he believes he is the right man to take United forward.
