Manchester United chief scout Marcel Bouts is driving their move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente.
It broke yesterday that United were lining up a loan move for Llorente to cover their midfield injury absences.
And it's emerged that Bout is behind the plan, with the Dutchman recommending Llorente to United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Llorente only moved to Atletico last summer from Real Madrid and has struggled for regular first team football this season.
A loan move to United could suit all parties. Their push for Llorente will not affect negotiations with Sporting CP for Bruno Fernandes this week.
