Man Utd, Chelsea face end of season double date to decide title

Manchester United and Chelsea could face eachother twice within days to decide the title this season.

The Daily Star says the pair are already due to meet at Old Trafford on May 7, but the chances of their postponed Stamford Bridge meeting also being played at the end of the season shortened last night.

The fixture was originally planned for December 19, but the Blues postponed the clash more than 24 hours before kick-off after heavy snow storms in London.

The match was then rescheduled for March 1. Premier League chiefs are facing another headache with Chelsea set to face Reading in the FA Cup fifth round on the revised date for the title showdown.

If Carlo Ancelotti's side beat Everton in their fourth round replay on February 19, then top-flight officials will have to move the United versus Chelsea clash yet again because FA Cup, League Cup and European fixtures take precedent over Premier League games.
