Man Utd, Chelsea challenging Newcastle for Reims whizkid Hugo Ekitike

Chelsea and Manchester United have entered the fray to sign Reims youngster Hugo Ekitike.

The 19-year-old was wanted by Newcastle United in the January transfer window, but the player turned down the move.

According to the Express, Man United and Chelsea sent scouts to watch Ekitike play his first game since the window closed.

He was involved for Reims against Bordeaux on Sunday, and scored the first goal in a 5-0 win.

Scouts from other clubs, including Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester City and Liverpool, were also at the game.

A host of European clubs, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich, all had scouts watching the game as well.
