Manchester United have joined interest in Newcastle United fullback Daryl Janmaat.

The Evening Chronicle says Southampton, Manchester United and Liverpool are all considering a summer move for Janmaat.

Janmaat has been one of the few players in Newcastle's embattled squad who have been above criticism, having filled in at centre-back after current skipper Fabricio Coloccini recklessly collected a red card before a crucial run of fixtures.

He was recruited from PSV Eindhoven in the summer for £5million but is now rated as double that.
