Manchester United are interested in Lille teenager Joel Ngoya.
France Football says having turned 18 in January, the midfielder was expected to sign his first professional contract before April. However, the offer never arrived and Ngoya will be eligible to leave the club in just over two weeks.
Mikel Arteta's Arsenal have eyes on the rising star and could utilise their good relationship with Lille having completed a club-record deal for Nicolas Pepe last summer.
But they have further competition closer to home.
And that is because Everton and Manchester United are ready to join the congested battle.
Ngoya impressed during his 90-minute display against Chelsea's Under-19 side in December and that performance appears to have been enough to convince the pair to take a closer look.
However, they will need to act quickly because Andre Villas-Boas' Marseille are ready to make a proposal in the coming days.
