Man Utd caretaker boss Solskjaer puts Greenwood on notice for debut

Manchester United caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to hand Mason Greenwood a first team debut.

Greenwood has 20 goals in 17 appearances for United at different youth levels, including a brilliant hat-trick in the FA Youth Cup against holders Chelsea.

The Mirror says Greenwood may see some more cup action as Solskjaer is said to have earmarked United's FA Cup third round tie against Reading as the perfect opportunity to hand the youngster his senior debut.

Solskjaer has told Greenwood of his plans for the game on January 5 - a fixture which will be United's fifth in 15 days over the festive period.

With Marcus Rashford the only recognised striker available for the time being, Greenwood's introduction in the FA Cup could be useful for Solskjaer ahead of the trip to Tottenham a week later.
