Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney says an early season team meal proved a great success.
The 29-year-old's decision to book a team meal in Manchester city centre in the early stage of the season to help the new signings integrate illustrated how readily he has embraced the captaincy.
"I think it's important, obviously more so this season because we have more new players and a lot of foreign players," Rooney told manutd.com.
"It's important for them and their families to get to know the other players and their partners, for them to interact as well. If they can do that, it will certainly help players settle in a lot quicker. I felt it was important for the team and for the lads to enjoy it."
