Manchester United captain Harry Maguire says Raphael Varane will help improve his game.

Varane is expected to take the first-team starting spot from Victor Lindelof to play alongside Maguire on a more regular basis and, while speaking to 'UMM' YouTube channel, the skipper revealed that he is excited to play alongside the four-time Champions League winner and believes they can both learn from each other.

“Obviously it's really exciting to get him at the club and to work alongside him," Maguire said.

"I think him coming in will bolster the defensive unit. We can learn off each other, we can push each other and that's what we want for the club.

"We want to keep more clean sheets and the more competition the better."
