Next up for United is a trip to the King Power Stadium, Maguire's former home, where the winner of the fixture will be second in the Premier League at full time. Maguire was full of praise for his old side, including prolific striker Jamie Vardy, who was top scorer last season and already has 11 goals this term.
“Vards is a great player," Maguire said, revealing he is hoping to use his inside knowledge of Vardy's game to combat him.
“He obviously got the Golden Boot and I'm really pleased for him. He's a great guy and top player. I played against him a lot in training and twice last year, so I know it will be a tough battle but hopefully me and the other centre-half can get on top of."
