Man Utd captain Maguire breaks Terry England record

Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has broken an England record held by Chelsea legend John Terry as the Three Lions thrashed San Marino 10-0 on Monday night.

The hammering secured Gareth Southgate's side a spot in next winter's World Cup in Qatar, with Maguire getting the scoring underway.

It has been a challenging season for Maguire since he helped England reach the final of last summer's European Championships.

Maguire's goal was his seventh in an England shirt, which means he is now the highest-scoring centre-back in Three Lions' history.

Before the current international break, Terry and Jack Charlton had led the way with six goals apiece, with Maguire now moving ahead of both of them.
