Manchester United have rejected claims Jesse Lingard is exploring joining an Italian club this summer.

The 27-year-old has become an outsider over the past 18 months, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer disappointed with his output.

Lingard recruited notorious agent Mino Raiola, who also represents Paul Pogba, in a move that ignited speculation he would leave the club.

It was reported this week that the England international had spoken to Ashley Young and Chris Smalling about life in Serie A.

However, the Daily Mail says sources at Old Trafford have vehemently denied the claims.

Smalling is on loan at Roma this season, while Young joined Inter Milan in January.
