Manchester United are encouraged by news that Milan Skriniar has not signed a new deal at Inter Milan.

The Slovakian defender is a top target for Mourinho in the January transfer window.

The United boss knows that his side must improve defensively and he sees Skrinar as the answer.

And Calcio Mercato has reported that talks between Inter and Skriniar have hit a hurdle.

The 23-year-old is under contract until 2022 but Inter still want to extend the deal in order to deter the likes of United.
