Man Utd boss Ten Hag stands by claims of Newcastle 'delaying' tactics

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag stands by criticism of Newcastle United's tactics ahead of Sunday's trip to Tyneside.

Ten Hag has accused the Magpies of timewasting.

He said at today's presser: "A concern? We know they delay.

"It's something the referees don't want, as the aim from the Premier League is to have tempo in games.

"So they have to be consistent and let the game go.

"It's about us and like we did in the two previous games, we want to dictate and control the game.

"We play a good opponent and they have had a great season. They're a team that's hard to beat but we're looking forward to the challenge and we have shown we can beat them." T

On Marcus Rashford making the trip, Ten Hag said: "I've got hope for Marcus [Rashford].

"He's trained but he had to do some treatment, he had to do some individual training and today he joined in with the group.

"We have one more day so I have good hope he will be available.

"We also have players like Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, Scott McTominay and Antony dos Santos, so we have enough players with the capabilities to score goals."
