Man Utd boss Ten Hag: Sir Alex a great support

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is delighted with the support he receives from Sir Alex Ferguson.

Former manager Ferguson has been ever-present at United games this season and looks to have built a great relationship with Ten Hag.

The two men were pictured deep in conversation over dinner at Wilmslow restaurant Cibo before United's play-off second leg against Barcelona on Thursday night.

Asked about the best message Ferguson has given him, Ten Hag said it wasn't just one piece of advice, but the 'winning culture' the Scotsman left behind.

The Dutchman told Sky Sports: "He is by doing (not words). I think he left a legacy and that is Manchester United stands for winning and a winning culture.

"I think he's such a great example for all of us, for humanity, but for all of us around and in Manchester United, he's such a big example and we hope that we can make him proud on Sunday."

On the meeting he had with Ferguson over dinner, Ten hag added: "It is massive. I always enjoy it, speaking with people with a lot of knowledge and experience.

"He was to share it, he wants to help and support and you feel this is his club. He is so committed. He wants us to do well. It was a great night and I'm looking forward to the next one with him."
