Man Utd boss Ten Hag ponders adding Amad to next season's squad

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is open to including Amad in his squad for next season.

The attacker, who plays for the Ivory Coast, has been on loan at Sunderland this season.

The 20-year-old scored his 12th goal in the league of the season in a 2-1 win over Birmingham.

Amad will have competition, given Antony, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Facundo Pellistri, and Anthony Elanga can all play on the wings.

"We consider everything but I have a little bit of reservation about [recalling Amad] because I don't want to stop the process," Ten Hag said of Amad at the start of this year.

"He has made really good progress there so I'm happy with that.

"But young players need experiences and when we decide for him to come back, he has to be a player who can compete for the starting XI or minimum to come on for a lot of games and make an impact."
