Man Utd boss Ten Hag not dropping De Jong pursuit

Manchester United are ready to try again for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

The Manchester Evening News says United were in talks with the Spanish side for an extended period but failed to agree a deal.

They eventually turned to former Real Madrid star Casemiro - the Brazilian having enjoyed an excellent impact following his £60m switch. That has not totally ended the Red Devils' interest in De Jong.

Ten Hag is 'open' to a second pursuit of the Dutchman with another midfielder featuring high up on the club's shopping list.

t is said that Jude Bellingham is also being considered with United having previously been beaten to his services by Borussia Dortmund.
