Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has explained one of his substitutions against Leeds United.
The Red Devils coach confirmed the decision to take off Marcel Sabitzer against Leeds in the second half was precautionary.
Fans were surprised at Sabitzer getting hooked, while Fred remained on the pitch until the end of the 2-2 draw.
"Nothing happened when we brought on Victor in the last minutes of the game," ten Hag told beIN SPORTS.
"But I think Marcel Sabitzer did a decent job and played a good game and the reason we took him off is because he didn't play since a while 90 minutes.
“In training, he seems like a fit guy.
"But if you have to come into a Premier League game, especially when you have to play Leeds United, as a team with the most intensity in the game, it is normal you are a little bit tired."
