Manchester United caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is encouraged by the feedback he's received from vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
The Sunday World says Solskjaer held lengthy talks with Woodward earlier this month.
The pair met in an Italian restaurant after attending a ceremony at Old Trafford to mark the 61st anniversary of the Munich Air disaster.
Executive vice-chairman Woodward is said to have been impressed with the ex-Molde chief's attacking brand of football - which juxtaposes that of Jose Mourinho.
Woodward has also noted the improvements in certain players including Anthony Martial - who he fought with Mourinho to keep last summer - and their eagerness to now sign long-term deals at Old Trafford.
While no agreements over Solskjaer's future have been made, he is increasing likely to be offered the post full-time in the summer.
