Man Utd boss Solskjaer: Unfair to ask too much of Sir Alex

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has played down talk of Sir Alex Ferguson having a big influence on his daily work.

Solskjaer insists he's not in daily contact with his former manager.

"We're not talking weekly. I haven't talked to him many times.

"The influence I have from Ferguson is more about the 15 years I had under him. He is 77, so it would not have been fair to him," explained Solskjaer.

The Norwegian also insisted the players have been positively influenced by the past three managers that went before him.

"It is part of the club's history to get some setbacks, it wasn't just glory days with Sir Alex either. It's just the way we are, we turn back and can hopefully get to the table. That is the important thing for us now.

"The last three managers (David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho) have shared so much knowledge that players have learned. They know that every day is a new experience."
