Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to sell three defenders.

The Manchester Evening News says Solskjaer has put Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo up for sale. The Norwegian is eyeing a centre-back this transfer window as he plots a path to Premier League title glory. But it appears the 47-year-old will have to sell before he buys this summer.

Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof were both good last season but, despite their impressive displays, the Norwegian wants more.

United also have Axel Tuanzebe and Eric Bailly currently on the books at Old Trafford, while the club have high hopes for young defender Teden Mengi.

Instead, Smalling, Jones and Rojo are 'tagged' as for sale as the Red Devils seek further improvement following their return to the Champions League.
