Man Utd boss Solskjaer settles on De Gea for Euro final - for now

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set to go with David de Gea for the Europa League final against Villarreal.

The Manchester Evening News says De Gea has provisionally got the nod ahead of Dean Henderson, having started the last four Europa League ties against Granada and Roma.

Henderson kept goal in United's first four Europa League games against Real Sociedad and AC Milan and, ironically, his stint as Premier League number one has partly prevented him from resuming cup 'keeping duties.

De Gea performed exceptionally in United's 3-2 semi-final second leg defeat to Roma, when he made 10 saves to prevent an improbable comeback in the 8-5 aggregate win, whereas Henderson endured an error-strewn performance in the 4-2 defeat to Liverpool last week.

Henderson is likely to return for the final Premier League game of the season at Wolves on Sunday, maintaining manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's pattern of rotating the 'keepers across United's final five league fixtures.
