Man Utd boss Solskjaer: Man City, Liverpool won't dominate

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is convinced Liverpool and Manchester City won't repeat last season's dominance this term.

City were crowned champions with 98 points, one more than Liverpool as the Reds became the side with the most points not to win the top-flight title in English football history.

"The Premier League is a very competitive league," said Solskjaer in Singapore, where he is preparing for United's third pre-season friendly of the summer against Inter Milan on Saturday.

"What those two teams did last season was exceptional to get 97 and 98 points.

"I don't think that will happen again. I think we will see a closer race this season.

"There are six teams who want to challenge for a Champions League place, there are one or two teams underneath who would [also] like that.

"But our aim is to focus on ourselves.

"We have to be better, improve, make sure Man Utd is our only focus and I'm sure we'll get closer to the top."
