Man Utd boss Solskjaer: I can't be Ferguson

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is determined to blaze his own trail at Manchester United.

United's manager was asked in a new interview with an American broadcaster what he learned from Sir Alex Ferguson during his time as a player at Old Trafford.

“I've learnt many, many things from him. But we are different personalities so I cannot be him," Solskjaer said. “But there is certain elements of his management style that I've took on board.

“I've learnt from him and studied him closely. The way he managed people, managed me as a human being and a player.

“I had the best teacher on how to be the front figure of a football club and how to set standards. The hunger to always to improve and win - I have just enjoyed working under him.

“But I have to be myself."
