Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised Phil Jones after the defender was rewarded with a contract extension on Friday.
The Englishman, who joined United from Blackburn Rovers in 2011, has started all 10 games since Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho in December.
And Solskjaer says Jones' knowledge of the club is valuable moving forward.
He said: added: "Phil knows what it takes to be a Manchester United player.
"He has won the Premier League, FA Cup and Europa League and is now one of the senior players within the team.
"He is coming up to his 27th birthday and entering into his prime years as a centre half. We are delighted Phil has committed his future to the club."
