Man Utd boss Rangnick: Atletico Madrid clash will be decided at Old Trafford

Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick says the players know there'll be a hostile atmosphere at Atletico Madrid.

Atletico host United tomorrow night for the first-leg of their Champions League round 16 tie.

Rangnick said, "In the Champions League, you need to perform at the highest possible level in all of the areas. We played a very physical game on Sunday so there may be a slight advantage to recovery on their side.

"Maybe we will have some fresh legs on the pitch. Mentally, we need to be prepared for a very emotional and hostile atmosphere in that stadium.

"Some of our players will not be received with the red carpet. We have some experience and some talented young players, so the balance is perfect.

"For tomorrow, it's about getting the best possible result but the tie will not be decided tomorrow. It will be decided in the second leg at Old Trafford."

He added: "The Champions League can never be a distraction that is why the team is so desperate to qualify for next season's.

"We all want to play these games and we are playing one of the best teams in Europe. We want to show everybody we can beat them. We have to make sure we play two top games against Atletico."
