Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has offered words of encouragement to Benfica goalkeeper Mile Svilar following his side's 1-0 win over the Portuguese giants at the Estadio du Luz on Wednesday.
An error from the 18-year-old Silvar, who became the youngest goalkeeper to ever play in the Champions League, allowed Marcus Rashford to score from a free-kick, and this ultimately allowed the Red Devils to win the match.
Despite Silvar's error, Mourinho offered the young keeper encouragement after the game.
"I already told the Portuguese press: only top keepers concede these goals," said Mourinho.
"Because bad keepers stay on their line; bad keepers don't come out for crosses; bad keepers don't try to analyse the game; bad keepers don't use their space to give cover like he did in the first half a few times. I knew before the match – this keeper is phenomenal."
