Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho insisted on a buy-back clause in Adnan Januzaj's move to Real Sociedad.
It would cost the Red Devils around €40m (£35.6m) to bring the Belgium international back, says the Daily Star.
That is significantly less than the €60m (£53.4m) release clause for any other club to sign Januzaj.
United would also reportedly be informed if Januzaj's release clause is triggered, allowing them a first option.
Leicester considered swooping for Januzaj during the summer transfer window as a replacement for Riyad Mahrez but a move failed to materialise.
