Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho stands by his post-match comments after their drab draw with Crystal Palace.
Ahead of Tuesday's Champions League tie with Young Boys, he warned his misfiring team they should stay at home if they can't handle the pressure of Old Trafford.
"I want the team to start on the front foot, not to be waiting, to be proactive," he said. “And probably the fans think 'Jose told them to be slow, Jose told them to be nice and easy to see what happened.'
“It's the opposite. I want the team to start strong, have a go immediately and was frustrated."
Mourinho has called for the players to give supporters something to shout about – and dismissed any suggestion they are feeling the pressure of playing in front of 75,000 at Old Trafford.
“I refuse to say that," he said. “It would be a lack of respect to the stadium and fans to say we prefer to play away than home. If you ask me prefer if I prefer to play here or Bern, I always prefer to play at home.
“If you feel pressure, stay at home. When I say home, I don't mean the stadium, I mean home, home and watch on TV.
“If you feel pressure to play where the people come to support, come on. I never feel pressure to play at home."
