Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho admits his fringe players didn't do enough for defeat at Champions League opponents Valencia.
Mourinho made eight changes to a United side that was outplayed for well over an hour by Valencia, who led 2-0 after 47 minutes through Carlos Soler's opener and Phil Jones's clumsy own goal. Marcus Rashford struck midway through the second-half for the 2-1 defeat.
"I expect from my players, especially players week in week out, you ask me why they play, why don't they start," Mourinho said. "Was a good match to play, a match without any kind of pressure, a match in a competition that everybody likes to play. And in the end my team improved really when I made the changes that I didn't want to make.
"Which is a little bit of frustration. Because I didn't want to play the three players that I played in the second-half."
