Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson says Michael Owen isn't for sale.
New Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier, who had the England striker under his wing at Anfield, has already expressed an interest in taking the 30-year-old to the Midlands in the January transfer window.
But Ferguson said: "Gerard is wasting his time. I wouldn't sell Michael Owen. Michael is right when he says he hasn't been getting enough minutes on the pitch but that's because Dimitar Berbatov has started the season so well.
"Michael will get enough football. He will start against Scunthorpe in the Carling Cup on Wednesday night."
